What are your credentials?

Dr. Ariel Haddad, DO is a physician Board Certified OB/GYN and Dr. Jamie Vlasic is a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).  Both are Certified Menopause Practitioners by the Menopause Society.  You can read more about this certification here:  https://www.menopause.org/for-women/whats-an-ncmp

Do you perform annual gyn exams?

No.  Care at Helia Health is centered upon providing the most up to date and high quality menopause care and leaving routine gynecologic care in the hands of your established gynecologist.  If you do not have an established gynecologist or primary care who performs breast and pelvic exams, we will happily refer you to one locally.

Question 4

Do you prescribe hormone replacement therapy?

Yes!  Prescribing hormone therapy when safe and indicated is a large part of my practice, including FDA-approved forms of bio-identical hormones.

Please note at Helia Health, we do not prescribe injectable hormones or hormone pellets.

Do you accept insurance?

Accepted Answer

Helia Health is out of network with all insurance providers for visit fees.  This allows me to provide longer visits than a traditional reimbursement model in order to optimize a personalized plan for you.   HSA/FSA payments can be used for the entirety of your visit.  Alternatively I can provide you with a copy of your super-bill to submit to your insurance company should they reimburse for out of network care.  All labs and prescriptions will be prescribed through insurance.  My visit costs are determined based on information posted on https://www.fairhealthconsumer.org/.

Can I see you via telemedicine?

Yes!  For patients located in North Carolina at the time of your visit we can absolutely schedule you to be seen via video conference. If you are outside of North Carolina and in need of a menopause provider, I recommend finding a Certified Menopause Practioner here: https://portal.menopause.org/NAMS/NAMS/Directory/Menopause-Practitioner.aspx

I have a history of breast cancer, is Helia the right place for me?

Yes. If you are currently undergoing breast cancer treatments that induce early menopause or you have a history of breast cancer and are in natural menopause, we can work together to develop a plan to safely manage your symptoms.

Cancellation Policy

Appointment Cancellation Policy 
To ensure availability for all patients and to acknowledge the significant clinical time spent reviewing records and preparing for each visit, Helia Health maintains the following cancellation policy: 
 
Nurse Visits (New Patients) 
Cancellations made less than 72 hours prior to a scheduled nurse visit will incur a $100 cancellation fee. 
 
New Patient Consultations 
If a patient cancels after the nurse appointment but more than 72 hours prior to a scheduled consultation, the patient will be responsible for 50% of the consultation fee. 
-Cancellations made less than 72 hours prior to a scheduled 60-minute consultation will result in the patient being responsible for the full consultation fee. 
 
Follow-Up Appointments 
Cancellations made less than 72 hours prior to a scheduled follow-up appointment will incur a $100 cancellation fee. 
 
General Policy Notes 
Cancellations or rescheduling requests must be made at least 72 hours in advance to avoid charges. 
Missed appointments (“no-shows”) will be treated as late cancellations. 
Fees will be charged to the payment method on file. 
This policy applies to new and follow-up appointments, unless otherwise noted. 
 
Exceptions 
Helia Health reserves the right to waive cancellation fees at its discretion in the event of emergencies or extenuating circumstances.
